This is a terrific book to use for studying for the Neonatology Boards. The amount of material in Neonatology can seem overwhelming, but the authors do a great job of organizing and presenting the material. After the Boards, it is a nice book to have on the shelf for a quick answer to a question. And it's great to have with you on-call.

Great idea and helpful in general but the editing has issues. There are missing questions, there are correct answers with incorrect letters by them, there are even answers to missing questions. Content is good but most of the citations are pre-2010.

About the Author

Terance D. Miethe is Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is author of Simple Statistics: Applications in Criminology and Criminal Justice (OUP, 2006) and coauthor of many books, including Crime Profiles: The Anatomy of Dangerous Persons, Places, and Situations (OUP, 2005).

Jane Florence Gauthier is Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her current research interests focus on gender differences in criminal offending and issues surrounding community structure and crime.

This book is very well-written, making the information easy to comprehend without having to re-read something several times. It is a great price and I used it for one of my classes. My grade in the class reflected the helpfulness of this book.

Excellent for both undergrad and graduate statistics courses

This may sound a bit hipster-ish but my first copy of this book was back when it was still spiral bound and available only at the UNLV bookstore, it was a great resource then and cost about the same. By the time I entered grad school in 08 this book was in it's current form and was used in my grad stats class taught by Miethe. Now, four years later I am using this book as an instructor in both undergraduate and graduate courses at Arizona State University.

Everything about this book is fantastic, the only thing I would like to see is an e-book edition to keep up with the growing trend.

About the Author
Joseph A. DeVito received his BA from Hunter College in 1960, his MA from Temple University in 1962 and his PhD from the University of Illinois in 1964.  After receiving his PhD, he taught at Hunter College-in-the-Bronx (later Lehman College).  He has taught a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, though he has concentrated on the undergraduate level and mainly on the introductory courses. He has served on the editorial boards of Quarterly Journal of Speech, Communication Monographs, Communication Education, Communication Quarterly, Journal of Communication, and Etc: A Review of General Semantics.

Excellent book, but may not be necessary.

I literally used only 2 pages from this book and made an A in my speech class. I honestly don't know if I should consider that a good thing because the book was expensive for being 1s and 0s on my PC. Unless your instructor is going to be quizzing/making exams from the book I suggest you save your money and simply get the 2 pages that illustrate the outline. If you have a speech instructor/professor/teacher earning their pay this book is pointless. Two Stars for the 2 pages. I am by no means belittling the author or his effort, the book has a lot of excellent information for future public speakers but if speech as a class is nothing more than something to mark off on your degree/graduation plan then just find the speech outline.

It did have a lot of common sense information that most people would already know but the book was very helpful, informative and interesting. Even if the book is not a requirement, I would recommend to anyone seeking a higher level of knowledge in speaking.

Designed and built in the late 1930s, originally as reconnaissance and bomber plane, the Do 17/215 was also used as a night fighter equipped with radar systems. A large part of the book is devoted to the combat use of the aircraft in the Spanish Civil War, Poland, the Balkans and Russia together with the Western Campaign and Battle of Britain. A short account of the night fighting missions is also included.

Some good content but a lot of useless info.,

The technical info (drawings mainly) are great but the "service history" is noting more than a rambling mess of stories about pilots and how they were captured, marched half naked, fed bread by locals and other nonsense that has nothing to do with the aircraft's service. Next time, tell relevant stories about the history or leave it out and charge less,

This book is essentially a reprint with minor changes. Kagero is trying to double dip.

This is the 60th book (No. 3060) in Kagero's Monographs series. The book is an 8-1/4" x 11-3/4", square bound, 144 page card cover. The book is devoted to the Dornier Do 17/Do 215, one of three bombers the Luftwaffe started WWII with and the only one of the three that didn't serve to war's end.

The book breaks down into three parts. The first 100 pages are devoted to the background, design, development, and service history of the aircraft. The next 32 pages feature very high quality line drawings primarily in 1/72nd scale but with some fittings drawn bigger. There are a few pages of drawings in 1/96th scale detailing external differences between models. Color profiles and a few plans take up the remainder of the book and the rear cover.

All is excellent and well worth the asking price but I can only award three stars because of Kagero's occasional practice of double dipping (enticing the consumer to buy the same material twice) as in this case.

Seven years ago Kagero published a Do17/Do 215 book in this same series (it was number 39) with the same author. Are there major differences, justifying a new volume in the series? Sadly, no.

The differences are minor. There is a new cover painting. The current volume does not have the masking foil the original did. The text in the current volume is spread over 100 pages instead of the 92 of the original. This permits some additional photos to be added and in fact some photos have been reproduced at a smaller size to squeeze in some more. The drawings are identical but in the current book the Polish captions have been removed leaving only English. The are three additional pages of color profiles and as with the drawings the Polish captions have been removed.

In conclusion, I can only recommend this book if one doesn't already own the original in which case I highly recommend it. If one does own the original there is little point beyond obsessive completism (which I succumb to more often than I would like) to get this newer edition.

One of the best of this series. Overdue subject on WWII. Lots of black and white photos and color profiles are numerous and excellent. Liked description of use in WWII.

Do not overlook this book!

Having read a brief reference to this 1961 tragedy, and the subsequent book, I followed through with Kindle/Amazon to consider purchasing it. Although it received 4 out of 5 stars, many reviewers critiqued the authors' rendition as "boring". DEFINITELY NOT TRUE! It is very well-written. The details and atmosphere bring the reader immediately and intimately into this 11-year old girl's horrific experience, her incredible survival and the repercussions on her life and the lives of others. Also intriguing, is the follow-up on the personality of the perpetrator and the personal disintegration that brought him to his final end. A wonderful, can't-put-down read!

I liked the way the characters were introduced, stressing each of their personalities. I was able to trust the facts that were presented. I especially appreciated the telling of the legacy of orange becoming the color for water emergency items.

The Responsio ad Lutherum, written by Thomas More under the pseudonym of Guillielmus Rosseus, represents an important phase of the violent controversy that developed between Luther and Henry VII after the publication in 1521 of the King's Assertio Septem Sacrementorum. Here, for the first time, More entered the field of polemical, religious warfare, beginning a career as Catholic apologist which he was to continue in his English works during the next ten years, The present edition is based on the 1523 Rosseus text, with full collations from the earlier, and unique, Baravellus issue and from the 1565 Louvain printing. For the first time, More's racy diatribe is fully translated into English, with the Latin and English texts printed in parallel.The editor's Introduction traces the background of the controversy and analyzes at length More's important revisions in his text as he worked out his view of the papal primacy. The Commentary traces the nature of the conflict between More and Luther, emphasizing the shades of development in Luther's though. Historical, biblical, and patristic allusions in the text are explicated and analyzed. The Responsio should no longer, in view of this volume, occupy the position which it has held for so long—the most neglected of all More's major works.Mr. Headley is associate professor of history at the University of North Carolina. The translator, Sister Scholastica Mandeville of the Order of Sisters Adorers of the Most Precious Blood, teaches at the Provincial Motherhouse, Ruma, Illinois.

Great field guide

A very complete and beautifully illustrated field guide to the birds of Argentina and Uruguay. It features a range map, good description of the bird and a photo and illustration of the birds. The package also included a bird checklist and dvd of bird songs for many of the bird. This is a must book for anyone going to bird in Argentina or Uruguay.

A little pricey for a bird guide but it seems to cover all 1000 birds in two languages. It has photos, drawings with habitat background, maps where found, and good short descriptions. Also a I-VI rating on the probability of seeing the bird. The back cover says "contains DVD with 900 bird sounds". The book actually contains a CD of sounds which plays on a computer.
