Reliable Resource for Nutritional Health Information

There is a lot of useful information on the internet these days, however, when it comes to health, much of that information is trendy and subject to poor quality research. This book presents an extremely thorough and balanced approach to health and nutrition in a readable manner.

This book isn't content with just telling you what to do, it breaks nutritional health down to basic elements and explains the functions with usable knowledge that will help you address situations that might not be directly covered in the book itself.

I am going to use this book as supplementary material for homeschooling in addition to using it for practical health insights for myself and my family as a whole.

This is a book that I would recommend every household to own.

Nutrition is a must with my husband and I, especially as we get older and wiser! This book is perfect for what anyone needs to know about good nutrition and why it is so important. It even has recipes, which I have tried, and they are great! It is quite a lot to read and that is fine with me - the more knowledge I get, the "smarter" I am in doing the right things to be healthy. Feeling great and positive is, and has always been, a high priority in my life. Great book!!!

This book is a very good comprehensive nutrition book. Not just in its discussion of what is needed for good nutrition, or what vitamin deficiency does and how to correct it. It explains also the biochemistry of the nutritional functions in terms the average person could understand.

Not a book for the person looking for any easy diet to loose weight, or to understand why they are sick. This book is for those who really what the facts!

About the Author
MUHAMMAD YUNUS was born in Bangladesh, educated at Dhaka University, and studied economics at Vanderbilt University on a Fulbright scholarship. He is the founder and director of Grameen Bank. He and Grameen Bank were awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, and he received a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009. He is also the author of Banker to the Poor and Creating a World without Poverty.

Ray Porter authoritatively narrates the story of how microloans revitalized money-lending practices and female-owned businesses in Bangladesh. Porter also conveys the earnestness of Muhammad Yunus's journey from small-scale interventions in his village as a community money lender to renown as a Nobel Peace Prize winner. In places, the listener may feel the narration grows slightly plodding, an effect of the repetitive sentence rhythm. good primer on Social Businesses

Well worth the read for understanding the Grameen concept of building Social business and the capacity of social business to impact the world in addressing specific issues. Yunus shows the successes and failures and raises important questions for persons considering using business to address social issues. At the end of the day, the social business still must make a profit as it is a business. The book should be read critically as Yunus interjects European welfare governance as a desirable model not yet able to be developed in many countries, thus the need for social business. His world view some how separates government from the people rather than the American model of government of the people, by the people, for the people. However, Yunus rightly shows how business can be run for the benefit of the people, by the people. Yunus could make the book a better read by eliminating some broad assertions on governance and references to issues caused by [the myth of] global warming and instead write that social issues can be solved by social businesses, regardless of the cause or perceived cause. I highly recommend the book for practitioners as well as for people desiring to better understand how to create sustainability which by itself eliminates poverty.

Starting your own Social Business

One of the most useful books I have read and referred to on many occasions. As our cohort from the Workforce Development Advocate program of the California State University of Sacramento completes a long journey with this book Building Social Business: The new kind of capitalism that serves humanity's most pressing needs by Muhammad Yunus. Yunus is also the co-founder of Grameen Danone and Veolia. The cohort had shared this book by presenting the information given in each chapter.

This was one of the best ways to actually cover an entire book.
Yunus dreamed of helping others and to end poverty. He created a micro-credit system to help poor woman establish a business in Bangladesh. This system is also known as Social Business. Some of his stories that he shares in the book are from some amazing people that are all trying to make a living. This second chance has made that happen. This book covers all that is needed in order to start-up a small business.

I recommend this book to anyone wanting to start a business. It is also a great book to have in a business and marketing program at the high school level. I also recommend that any student looking for a community service project, entrepreneurship or social business.

Employing Business to Battle Poverty

Muhammad Yunus is perhaps world's best known anti-poverty crusader. His new book, Building Social Business, is a manifesto for those who care deeply about solving the society's "wicked" problems - poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, global warming. It is a treasure trove of creative ideas, exciting business models, and plans on how to create sustainable solutions for the betterment of the world's poor, and slowly chip away at global poverty.

Listening to Yunus speak, as I recently did in Houston (he gave the commencement speech at Rice), and reading his new book, one gets the sense of being in the presence of a world class social entrepreneur. He has credibility that only comes from years of toiling in the field to perfect these business models. Peter Ducker would have been proud of Muhammad Yunus and his ideas and experiments in managing new businesses to solve the multi-faceted problems of poverty.

The book is a sequel to his earlier books - Banker to the Poor, published in 1998, and, Creating a World Without Poverty, published in 2007. The new book describes his work in the years since he received the Noble Prize in Peace in 2006. His success gives new meaning to what President Kennedy said, "One person can make a difference and every person should try."

The new book is a call for ordinary citizens, organizations, and nations to dream of a better world for all humans, and act proactively to fight poverty, and overcome other big challenges that threaten human progress and prosperity. Is taming global poverty an overly audacious goal? Can this goal be attained in our lifetime? How can we eliminate poverty and related problems that have bedeviled human society for centuries? The author is supremely optimistic that poverty can be overcome, and the book presents a blueprint for a new type of business organization (Social Business or SB) dedicated to improving the conditions of the poor in a profitable and sustainable way.

He has years of experience in detecting and defending against malware, and advises developers and designers on best practices to protect their games against bots. Great Read and Reference!

Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how bots work on the inside. One thing to note to anyone interested, to really understand parts of this book you will need to know c++ or another high level programming language. This book covers a lot, even has an ASM crash course! This book gave me some strategies that I will definitely consider when starting a new bot for a game. There really is not another book out there that provides all this information in the manner Nick does. It gives you enough detail on most all of the subjects to get you in the right mindset and path to make a bot. Bravo Nick!

The first half of the book contained a good deal of introductory material regarding how to use Ollydbg ...

Firstly, the description on the website states that the paperback has 304 pages (as seen in the screenshot uploaded) while the actual paperback book has 277 pages only. That's 27 pages less than that described !

Secondly, I feel that the book is too overpriced for the material in it.
The book was released as a free Pre-Release ebook initially, with the first 125 pages in the book. Now, charging another $25 for an extra 125 pages or so, is not something that I feel worth paying for.

Thirdly, I feel that while the first half of the book (the 125 pages in the pre-release edition) was written well, the second half of the book seemed to be written in a hurry (probably as the deadline for the release was approaching, I do not know).

The first half of the book contained a good deal of introductory material regarding how to use Ollydbg and Cheat Engine, along with a very elementary introduction to patching compiled code.
While all this material is available publicly on the internet, it was rather nice to have it in one place .

If you are going forward with the idea that by reading just this book, you would be able to go ahead and build a serious Game Bot, I am sorry to say that it would be not so !

Many games nowadays are "packed" or encrypted with various protectors, as well as use very advanced Anti-Cheat techniques. A lot more knowledge of those and how to bypass them or thwart them would be necessary before one could build a serious bot.

All in all, I expected a lot more from this author from his final release of the book , but I found that a lot of necessary matter was skipped while there was too much focus on material that could have been skimmed.

Highly recommended, but primarily for a very specific demographic

This book sits at an odd intersection of beginner and advanced. If you hope to make the most of this book, then you're an experienced programmer who is interested in learning the principles of reverse engineering through the medium of hacking games. Anything else and this book will read in a lopsided fashion. It's for this reason that I give it 4 out of 5 stars: the book isn't what it could have been to a significantly broader audience.

Based on the merit of the book's content itself, the author imparts a wealth of experience and juicy nuggets of wisdom that you aren't likely to pick up through tutorials scattered across the Internet--much less in one tidy body of work. By the end of the book, the author has given the reader enough to begin the journey of game hacking, knowledgeably navigating their way to additional resources and requirements (i.e. if unpackers are needed, direction on the type of techniques/research you may need to do with any given game, etc.).

Going back to my opening sentiment, there's a broad audience of game hackers who are familiar with the topic of game hacking from the stance of memory scanning and writing scripts in Cheat Engine using Assembly; however, they don't know programming or scripting--much less pseudocode examples of either, of which this book provides copiously. That said, the author is clear from the onset that he expects the reader to be a proficient programmer, but I feel this book could have been so much more to a significantly broader audience without having such an expectation (this may be intentional, though, as by writing a body of work in this fashion, the author stands to greatly reduce time spent writing the work--and from a subjective observational perspective--limit potential competition).

I'm the type of person who will spare no expense (within reason) if I stand to learn something new even with topics or technologies I would consider myself experienced with, so I found a lot of the author's explanations illuminating and validating, though again, some of which was initially inaccessible to me without using supplemental resources online afterward (not the author's fault, but just something to be aware of). I make this point in regards to the price point of the book. I think it's more than fair (especially to the target audience I specified earlier, and due to the author writing mini games for you to practice with), but as another reviewer lamented, don't expect this book to single-handedly prime you to be Scrooge McDuck, swimming around in your giant vault of gold via hacking games.

Overall, 4/5 stars, but lacking one star only because this book feels somewhat lacking in fundamental ways for the sake of convenience. Also to note, I purchased the book directly from No Starch Press while it was in early access, so I had time to read through and consider 2/3 of the content well before it was sent to the presses.

Entrepreneurship is a phenomenon of tremendous societal importance. It is also an elusive phenomenon, which makes researching it fun, fascinating―and frustrating at times. In Researching Entrepreneurship one of the most highly recognized entrepreneurship scholars shares in a personal and readable way his rich experience and ideas on how entrepreneurship can or should be researched. Numerous real examples accompany the treatment of problems and solutions concerning design, sampling, operationalization and analysis. Suggestions for further improvements are also provided.

While Researching Entrepreneurship is targeted primarily at research students and academics it is of interest also for those who have professional reasons to collect and analyze data from new and small firms, or assess the dynamism of the economy. For example, analysts in marketing research or consultancy firms, business associations, statistical agencies and other government offices may find this book to be a valuable tool. Moreover, while the examples are derived from entrepreneurship research the book provides a unique "experienced empirical researcher" (rather than "textbook method expert") treatment of issues that are of equal relevance across the social sciences. This goes for topics like the role of theory; quantitative and qualitative research approaches; validity checking; statistical inference, and replication.

Per Davidsson is Professor in Entrepreneurship at Brisbane Graduate School of Business, QUT, Australia, and at the Jönköping International Business School in Sweden. In addition, he holds academic side appointments in China, Latin America and the US.

An highly informative and amusing read

A `How to' for Entrepreneurship research. The book provides a comprehensive treatment of entrepreneurship research methods - good, bad and ugly. It is surprisingly immensely readable, as the author notes, he wanted to retain the `individual voice' which the peer review process can remove. One warning though - this is one of those books that one should not read in public spaces, for the regular outbursts of laughter at the author's comments, will result in strange looks from bystanders!

An inspirational read for those `bogged down' in the researching mire.

Topics covered include entrepreneurship as a research domain, research design, sampling, survey reliability & validity, secondary data sets, dependent variables, replication and analysis methods.
